The founder of San Francisco startup tech company called Vungle was arrested and charged for sexually assaulting and abusing a toddler.

The 29-year-old founder, Zain Jaffer, found Vungle in 2011 and had been CEO of the mobile advertising company. After his arrest, Vungle removed Jaffer from CEO position indefinitely and Rick Tallman a former COO and CFO of Vungle took the position of CEO.

The company spokesperson told TechCrunch, San Francisco Bay Area-based news company that specializes in the tech-related news that the company is "aware of the extremely serious allegations leveled against our former CEO, and we are shocked beyond words."

Tallman confirmed that Jaffer had been removed from CEO position and he "was appointed permanent CEO all within 24 hours." He went on and explained that Jaffer's actions "are in no way reflective of the almost 200 dedicated and hard-working people who work for Vungle. Everyone at the company is appalled and deeply saddened by these events."

The toddler that was abused by Jaffer was identified as his three-year-old son.

The former CEO was also charged with oral copulation of a person under 10, lewd act upon a child, child abuse, and assault with a deadly weapon.

Jaffer attacked the responding officer and emergency personnel and received a misdemeanor charge of battery. He remained in the San Mateo County Jail as of Friday on $300,000 bail. Jaffer pleaded not guilty to his charges earlier this week. His next court date is scheduled on November 1.
