SEOUL, Dec. 19 (Aju News) -- South Korea's popular body band BTS released character items through cooperation with LINE Friends, a global messaging app brand known for various character items, in Seoul and New York.
Helped by LINE Friends, the group has been involved in sketching and designing character items in a project launched by Shinsegae, a major South Korean department store franchise. LINE is a messaging app created by Line Corporation, a Japanese subsidiary of the South Korean internet search giant Naver.
Shinsegae said Tuesday that BTS character items would be displayed at its concept store, "Boon the Shop", which opened in southern Seoul in 2000 as a modern, hip-hop style flagship store targeting young people with a unique street style. The store boasts an impressive array of fresh, attractive brands with unique designs like Alexander McQueen, Jean Paul Gaultier and Stella McCartney.
Shinsegae runs "Boon the Shop" at the Barneys New York, an American chain of luxury department stores, which displayed about 200 selected items including fur coats, cashmere clothing, perfume and premium brands.
LINE Friends will display BTS character items at its store in New York. Currently, Shinsegae sells items such as dolls, cushions and postcard sets in its pop-up store in Seoul.
