SEOUL -- HyunA, South Korea's iconic sexy singer, and her boyfriend were expelled from their management agency for betraying trust after they disclosed their romantic relationship while working together for the agency's project group.

The project group, "Triple H", involving HyunA as well as Hui and E'Dawn from boy group Pentagon made its debut in May, but HyunA and E'Dawn acknowledged their relationship on August 3, just a day after Cube Entertainment made a denial.

"We have put our priority on mutual trust and faith in the management of artists. After many discussions and pains, we decided to expel the two artists because it was not possible to recover trust with them," the agency said in a statement on Thursday.

Since their bombshell announcement, HyunA, a 25-year-old former 4Minute member, has suspended her public activity, while E'Dawn has stayed away from Pentagon.

The agency's move triggered a negative reaction from fans. "This is ugly. The agency should not treat artists like properties," "cbd0", a user from South Korean web portal Naver, criticized Cube. Another Naver user "jenn" said: "Artists also have their rights to love. I think the agency's reaction is too harsh."

HyunA is well known for her funky on-stage performances. When she was active as a project group "Trouble Maker" in 2011, with Jang Hyun-seung, a former boy group B2ST member, HyunA came into the center of the spotlight for her explicit performances in a live TV music show.
