SEOUL -- At this week's technology conference, CES, in Las Vegas, South Kora's top mobile carrier SK Telecom teamed up with SM Entertainment to showcase a 5G media content service. Customers wearing virtual reality devices can sing with other participants.
SK Telecom's VR platform was combined with SM's "everysing" smart karaoke app. A VR concept featuring Jaehyun, an NCT 127 member, and Punita Bajaj, a finalist on a TV audition, will be demonstrated. Robotic and human DJs will use SM's sound recording for joint performance.
SK Telecom said it would introduce its HoloBox service that combines hologram with an AI platform. The avatar of a visitor in hologram responds with different gestures and expressions.
