SEOUL -- South Korea's second-largest carmaker Kia Motors released a teaser mage for a new all-electric concept car designed at its design center in Frankfurt. The car will be unveiled on March 5 at a motor show in Geneva.

Kia's business center in Europe said in a statement that the concept is a visual embodiment of Kia's desire to move forward in the exciting world of electrification. Kia, a subsidiary of Hyundai Motor, has a lineup of all-electric versions from Ray, a compact boxcar, Soul, a compact utility vehicle, and Niro, a sport utility vehicle.

"Automotive design is about capturing the heart and making it beat that bit faster for that bit longer, and we believe that there's absolutely no reason why that should change simply because the car is electric," said Gregory Guillaume, vice president of Kia Motors Europe's design section.

"We imagined designing an all-electric car that not only answered consumer concerns around range, performance, recharging networks and driving dynamism, but one that also gave you goosebumps when you looked at it, and made the hairs on the back of your neck stand up when you drove it," said Guillaume.

"That’s why our all-electric concept is designed to not only get your pulse racing, but to also signpost our holistic and emotional approach to electrification."
