LG introduces new ultrafine 5K display designed for Apple's new products

SEOUL -- LG Electronics unveiled a new 27-inch "UltraFine" 5K display which was designed to meet the needs of creative designers, photographers and videographers working with Apple's new products.

The UltraFineTM 5K display gives consumers two high-quality monitors, along with the 24-inch UltraFine 4K display, LG said in a statement on Wednesday, adding its UltraFine displays deliver amazing image quality when connected to a Mac or iPad Pro. "The monitor is an ideal companion for the latest Mac notebooks and desktops, as well as iPad Pro."

"The first LG UltraFine series was well-received by creative professionals for its exceptional performance and convenience," said Jang Ik-hwan, head of LG's IT business division. "Ease of use, seamless integration, and stunning screen quality make LG UltraFine monitors a great choice for Apple users."

LG said its 5K monitor allows users to configure a versatile Mac workstation with video, audio and data transfer through a single cable and thanks to 94 watts of power, it can also charge any USB-C compliant host such as Mac or iPad.

UltraFine 5K is a superior wide-screen solution that delivers precise detail and color, with its 218 pixels per inch (PPI) resulting in more than 14.7 million pixels that render "incredibly lifelike images and razor-sharp text for viewing multiple windows and tools simultaneously," LG said. It is Installed with a built-in camera, a microphone and stereo speakers to provide a rich multimedia experience.
