SEOUL -- SKbioland, the cosmetics production subsidiary of SK Group's chemical unit SKC, made a foray into South Korea's popular mask pack market by launching a premium brand targeting customers who favor products made of natural materials.

SKbioland said in a statement on Tuesday that the company has launched "ReXRe", an abbreviation of "Re:born by Re:creation", which uses natural materials.

"While we nurture ReXRe to become a premium brand in South Korea, we also have plans to enter the Chinese market in the long term," an SKbioland official was quoted as saying. The cosmetics maker has built a mask pack factory capable of annually producing 50 million facial mask sheets in Haimen some 995 kilometers (618 miles) southeast of Beijing in 2018.

SKbioland has created products as an original equipment manufacturer (OEM), a company that creates products of other companies for reselling.
