SEOUL -- Hancom With, an online security and blockchain wing of South Korea's software maker Hancom Group, has launched a new blockchain-based small parcel delivery service called "Quick-service" to connect customers and deliverymen through an automated process.

Quick-service is a special form of delivery service that exists in South Korea's urban areas. Deliverymen ensure the quick delivery of small parcels such as important documents and car repair parts using motorbikes to snake around traffic jams. Quick-service is favored by customers who wish to deliver urgent parcels at lightning speed. There are some 40,000 Quick-service deliverymen zooming through the streets of South Korean cities.

Hancom With said in a statement on Tuesday that its blockchain-based Quick-service platform was designed to provide a real-time smart contract feature that matches deliverymen and customers to automatically forge a contract. Information will be securely stored in the virtual ledger of the platform's blockchain network.

The blockchain company said that the platform charges the lowest fee in the industry by getting rid of advance payments such as a service registration fee. The blockchain-based Quick-service is now available in Seoul and its satellite cities.
