SEOUL -- V, a member of K-pop band BTS, will sing an original soundtrack for "Itaewon Class," a popular South Korean cable TV drama starring Park Seo-joon. The drama, based on a famous web-comic of the same title, premiered on January 31.

JTBC, a cable TV operator, said Tuesday that "Sweet Night," the original soundtrack (OST) and acoustic indie-pop song produced by V, will be released on March 13.

The drama depicts a story of an ex-convict pursuing his dream goal of becoming a restaurant tycoon. It is the first series to be produced by Showbox, a South Korean film production and distribution company. So far, 11 OSTs sung by artists including Yoon Mirae, Crush and Kim Feel have been released.

Itaewon Class is the top content favored by over-the-top (OTT) video-on-demand (VOD) service users. It is the most favored drama content on Netflix, the world's top OTT service operator.
