SEOUL -- For personal hygiene, a portable virus-killing ultraviolet sterilizer manufactured by Samsung C&T is available via select online and retail stores. Samsung said the UV sterilizer with wireless charging can disinfect smartphones, earbuds and glasses in just 10 minutes. It automatically turns off after 10 minutes.

Tests by two independent institutes, Intertek and SGS showed that the UV sterilizer effectively kills up to 99 percent of bacteria and germs, Samsung said in a statement. "That’s not all -- we’ve designed it to fit a variety of device sizes so you can sterilize many of the products you use the most."

The sterilizer has dual UV lights and boasts a sleek and minimal design for positioning anywhere in the house, Samsung said, adding it is easy to use, with a single button that turns on or off the UV function. It automatically turns off after 10 minutes. It automatically turns off after 10 minutes.
