SEOUL -- As part of a green project to reduce greenhouse emissions,  Hyundai Motor has partnered with a state postal logistics service agency to test electric light-duty trucks on urban roads in Seoul and satellite cities for the delivery of parcels.

Hyundai said in a statement on December 21 that the company signed a memorandum of understanding with the Korea Postal Logistics Agency (POLA) to deploy the electric version of Mighty, a line of light-duty commercial vehicles, for a 12-month test operation.

The electric version of Mighty is equipped with a 128-kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery with a maximum driving range of 200 kilometers (124 miles) per charge. In 2019, POLA deployed Porter Electric, the electric version of Hyundai's small-sized electric trucks to the southern resort island of Jeju

In 2017, South Korea's postal service revealed a plan to replace old parcel delivery motorcycles with EVs)to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The postal service adopted 60 EVs this year due to complaints from deliverymen who refused to stop using old bikes.
