SEOUL -- Singer Chungha suspended public activities following 11 days of seclusion to treat COVID-19. The 24-year-old was sent to a state treatment center housing asymptomatic patients on December 7, just three days before her comeback with a new single.

Chungha was released from the treatment center on December 18 after health officials concluded that she would not spread COVID-19, MNH Entertainment said in a statement on December 21, adding she is now staying at her home.

The agency said that the singer would suspend public activities for a while to focus on her personal hygiene and health. Critical patients were treated at negative pressure wards and those showing light symptoms or asymptomatic patients were sent to temporary treatment centers in remote areas.
