SEOUL -- South Korea's top web portal operator Naver and Korean Air joined hands to interlink their services that would provide convenience and entertainment for customers. Naver will utilize artificial intelligence-based technologies and platforms to help customers with ticket reservation, check-in and boarding.

Naver said in a statement that the company signed a memorandum of understanding on February 24 with Korean Air to interlink services and platforms. "We will be able to provide a new form of usability by organically connecting a variety of services including smart payment and Papago, an AI-based translation, to the in-flight service sector," Naver said.

The web service giant said that customers will be able to reserve tickets via Naver's web portal platform using Naver Pay, a digital wallet service. Naver will provide content such as webtoons, also known as webcomics, through the flag carrier's in-flight entertainment service.
