SEOUL -- NHN, an information technology company in South Korea, has launched an artificial intelligence service specialized in fashion. With NHN's service developed by learning various shopping platform data at home and abroad based on image search technology, small and medium-sized shopping malls can easily provide sophisticated recommendation services without establishing their own AI services.
NHN said its service called "AI Fashion" provides functions such as searching for similar products only with images even if they do not know product names or brands. It recommends similar products when there is no inventory of desired products. The company has improved the completeness of search recommendation functions by testing Its service through a variety of shopping platforms.
NHN would introduce advanced AI functions that can track various attribute data such as colors, materials and patterns. "We will try to provide various AI-based services that can be applied more easily to small and medium-sized companies," Park Geun-han, an NHN official in charge of AI business, said in a statement on September 29.
NHN, a major game publisher, has aggressively expanded its business spectrum to include AI, cloud computing, financial technology and big data. The company has changed its name from NHN Entertainment into NHN to refresh its image as a total IT services company.
