The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy said that Trade Minister Ahn Duk-geun and Scanline President Stephan Trojansky were to attend an investment signing ceremony in Seoul on May 20. Scanline has worked on tentpole films for Marvel, DC and others.
Scanline's investment will serve as the basis for South Korea to grow as an Asian hub for content production based on information and communication technology (ICT), the ministry said. "This investment will contribute to the realization of South Korea's global media power," Ahn said.
Scanline with offices in Vancouver, Los Angeles, Munich, Stuttgart, Montreal, London and Seoul is known for its proprietary, in-house fluid effects software, Flowline, which is used in various fluid effects like water and fire. The company offers visual effects (VFX), 3D animated features and post-production services VFX is a process by which imagery is created or manipulated outside the context of a live-action shot in filmmaking and video production.
