Widex contains 70 percent of Terrad'or, herbicide material used to inhibit chlorophyll formation in weeds and generates active oxygen to destroy cells. Terrad'or works properly even on rainy days and can be also used to clear industrial sites and railroads. It has no residual risk as it quickly decomposes in crops or soil. Terrad'or can replace conventional herbicide materials such as Glyphosate, which is known to be carcinogenic.
Malaysia produces about 25 percent of the world's palm oil, edible oil that can be also used as a raw material for medicines, biofuels and household goods such as detergents and toothpaste. The Southeast Asian country in the tropical zone has about 5.9 million hectares (59,000 square meters) of palm oil cultivation area.
Farm Hannong said in a statement that Widex will be released in the Malaysian market in 2023 after its trial release scheduled for the second half of 2022. "Based on the entry into the Malaysian market, which produces 25 percent of palm oil, we will expand Terrad'or's overseas business to many other countries including Indonesia, the world's largest palm oil producer, and for many other crops," Farm Hannong overseas business director Choi Hack-yong was quoted as saying.
Terrad'or has completed patent registration in 29 countries including the United States, Japan and China. The product registration was already completed in the U.S and Australia. Currently, the herbicide is in the product registration screening process in five countries including Canada, Brazil and Argentina.
