Daesang Wellife is known for its brand called, "New Care," which contains essential nutrients for patients who cannot eat on their own. Patients with Lou Gehrig's disease who are unable to swallow food can consume New Care meals using a nasogastric tube that carries food to the stomach through noses.
"In collaboration with Daesang Wellife, we hope to provide integrated healthcare services including dietary management in Vietnam," KT's AI and digital transformation convergence business division head Song Jae-ho said in a statement on November 7. The non-face-to-face dietary management service for patients with cancer will be verified at local medical institutions.
There is a growing demand for medical services in Vietnam due to an increase in the middle-class population. KT runs a telemedicine service in Vietnam to treat diabetes and other diseases. In April 2022, the company partnered with a medical school in Hanoi to carry out the proof of concept (PoC) demonstration of a remote medical service platform for patients with chronic diseases.
