Haegeum's music video was watched by more than 2 million viewers less than two hours after its release on April 21. The title song featuring a fast reap beat and a dramatic vibe was produced using Haegeum, a traditional Korean string instrument that also has the meaning of "lifting a prohibition." In the music video, the rapper plays two different characters -- a social misfit and a man who chases criminals.
Starting with a New York concert on April 26, the lead rapper will go on a solo tour in six countries -- United States, Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, South Korea, and Japan. BTS' lead rapper will showcase his talents to global fans from April to June in various cities including Los Angeles, Auckland, Jakarta, Bangkok, and Seoul. Big Hit has not disclosed his schedule in Japan.
Suga, also known as Agust D, has presented rapping skills by collaborating with different artists. He took part in "Song Request," a song by 53-year-old veteran singer Lee So-ra in 2019. The song's music video gained more than 1.3 million views in less than 24 hours. Suga also collaborated with IU, one of the most popular female artists in South Korea's entertainment scene, to release "Eight," a dance song with some 171 million views on YouTube.
The artist is also known for his donation activities. In March 2023, he donated about 100 million won ($75,289) to child earthquake victims in Turkey and Syria through a London-based nonprofit organization. In 2022, the artist donated 100 million won to a Seoul-based disaster relief association to help residents on South Korea's eastern coast recover from a wildfire.
