SEOUL -- A gigantic shape of a Baby Shark created using some 500 drones will greet Seoulites on the sky of Gwanghwamun Square, an iconic square located in central Seoul featuring beautiful scenery on May 5's Children's Day. During the event, visitors can also enjoy magic shows, concerts, and try on Baby Shark costumes.

Gwanghwaun Square is favored by Seoulites and tourists as there are many museums and attractions nearby. Around the square, there are many tea houses and fancy restaurants that attract foreign tourists. It is only some 900 meters (0.5 miles) away from the Gyeongbokgung palace, the main palace from the Joseon dynasty that ruled the Korean peninsula from 1392 to 1897. Various performances such as a Taekwondo-based dance event are often held in the square.

"About 500 drones will be used to create the shape of our characters," Pinkfong's communications manager Yeon Hee-jae told Aju Daily on April 26. The company will kick off a Pinkfong festival starting on May 4 for three days. Visitors can also take Polaroid pictures with Bebefinn, an animated child developed as a follow-up to Baby Shark. The Bebefinn content ranked in the top 10 in 12 countries on Netflix.

Pinkfong has gained global popularity through its Baby Shark content. Baby Shark portrays a story about a family of great white sharks with colorful visuals and a catchy melody. The "Baby Shark Dance" video uploaded in 2016 garnered more than 12 billion views on YouTube. As of November 2022, the Baby Shark song was streamed more than 200 million times on the UK Singles Chart, beating Despacito, a popular song released by Puerto Rican singer Luis Fonsi.

Bebefinn is a three-dimension video animation show featuring the five-member family of a 20-month-old baby. The animated child named Finn loves to play with Baby Shark. He has four family members -- mother, father, brother, and sister. Finn's family showcases different dance movements with catchy songs that are easy to sing along to. In December 2022, the Bebefinn series was rolled out on Netflix in 190 countries with English, Spanish, and Korean subtitles.
