Second Moon is known for blending pansori, a traditional Korean narrative music, with different genres such as jazz, tango, Latin music, and American pop. Group members can play instruments such as violin, Irish whistle, bodhran, and mandolin. The group also produced soundtracks for South Korean TV shows including "The Legend of the Blue Sea" and "Moonlight Drawn By Clouds."
The Korean Cultural Center Washington, D.C. (KCCDC), a state-run institute under South Korea's culture ministry, said Second Moon will interact with fans at 7 p.m. on June 12 in Virginia. The institute said the performance is part of the "OnStage Korea" project designed to promote Korean music to officials at major art institutions. Anyone can enjoy the event for free but they should reserve through KCCDC's official website.
"We are proud to present the dynamic band '2nd Moon' (@2ndmoonofficial), a dynamic 7-member band blending Korean pansori with traditional Irish music," KCCDC said in its Instagram post.
A South Korean music festival was also held in New York in May 2023. At the event hosted by the Korean Cultural Center New York, multi-genre music producer DJ Chen curated various songs by K-pop idols including boy band Stray Kids, NCT, and Seventeen. The artist specializing in DJing led the event with K-pop dance clubs from two universities in the Northeastern state.
