SEOUL, April 18 (AJU PRESS) - The "World IT Show 2024," the largest ever information and communications technology (ICT) exhibition in South Korea featuring 445 exhibitors from 10 countries, kicked off in Seoul on Wednesday for a three-day run. Hosted by the country's science ministry, the show embraces the theme "Innovation in Everyday Life, Created by AI."

South Korean conglomerates are at the forefront, showcasing a variety of high-tech AI-powered solutions. Mobile carrier SK Telecom presents "X Caliber," an AI veterinary imaging assistant. This service can detect abnormalities in a dog's musculoskeletal system, heart, and chest within 30 seconds.

Samsung Electronics highlights features of its recently launched Galaxy S24 phone. This phone boasts generative AI functionalities, a type of AI that can create new content like text, images, or data based on machine learning. Notably, the phone offers instant language interpretation without requiring a separate internet connection.

Other major players present at the event include KT, LG CNS, LG Group's technology solution subsidiary, and web service giant Kakao. KT showcases their AI-based spam message-blocking solution.

Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are also using the IT fair to gain exposure. "We're exhibiting various digital twin solutions designed for future mobility, military applications, and smart cities," Simon Moon, a communications manager at Techtree Innovation, told the Aju Press. A digital twin is a virtual replica of an object or infrastructure, crucial for testing new technologies and simulating real-world scenarios to predict outcomes. Notably, Techtree aims to offer its 3D spatial information platform for the United Arab Emirates' digital twin ecosystem project, specifically designed to simulate natural disasters like flooding.
