Korea's geostationary satellite to be used for maritime disaster prevention in Indonesia SEOUL -- Cheollian 2B, one of South Korea's homemade geostationary communication satellites, will be used to monitor marine environments in Indonesia. Using various information provided by Cheollian 2B, the Southeast Asian country with more than 17,000 islands can handle sea-level rise caused by climate change. ECONOMY Donga Social Holdings partners with LS E-Link to cooperate in EV charging infrastructure development SEOUL -- Dong-A Social Holdings, the holding company of South Korean drug maker Dong-A Pharmaceutical, has partnered with LS E-link, the electric vehicle charging station wing of energy infrastructure maker LS Group, to cooperate in the acceleration of EV infrastructure development. As of 2022, there were some 400,000 clean energy vehicles registered in South Korea where some 5.5 million vehicles roam the roads. Industry Taihan Cable wins $60 mln high voltage power grid project order in Bahrain SEOUL -- Taihan Cable & Solution, a power cable and grid infrastructure company in South Korea, has secured an order worth $60 million to establish an extra high-voltage power grid in Bahrain. A 400-kilovolt-class power grid will be installed to supply electricity for a new substation that will be built on the western coastal region "Al Jasra."
